Accomplishments may come and go, but a ‘can do’ attitude and serious effort will take your kids through life.
Have you ever approached something with a ‘can’t do’ attitude? When have you seen that in your child? With that attitude, it often takes longer, can be more difficult than it needs to be, and is downright exhausting.
Achievements like grades, awards and coming in first place can’t be guaranteed. We need to go back to acknowledging and reinforcing a positive attitude and best effort in our children. All the rest will fall into place. There are still no guarantees; however, the odds of improvement go up, and resilience and self-worth will grow.
It may sound trite, but it really is about the journey. Reaching a final destination is great, but oh, the stories we can tell about the road we traveled.
Quotes to ponder…

“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” (Will Rogers)
